Brazilian fans are in for a treat. Alicia Keys is ready to shoot the video for her third single from The Element of Freedom. The song, “Put It In A Love Song“, features Beyonce and will be shot in Brazil! According to a Brazilian newspaper Alicia will arrive next week in Brazil to shoot the video the week of February 9, 2009 in Rio de Janeiro. Beyonce’s currently on the South American leg of her I Am tour so she’ll be available in the country that week.
The video will supposedly be shot against the backdrop of Rio’s landscape, including a slum, a school, and the Sambadrome where Carnival parades are held. The two divas will be outfitted in Carnival-inspired costumes, including Swarovski headwear.

Usher and Alicia Keys are on the same line-up for the first time in a long time.

The former ‘My Boo’ duo have been announced as performers, along with Shakira, for this year’s NBA All-Star half-time show.

Usher, who took the Grammy stage to honor his musical idol Michael Jackson on Jan. 30, is set to sing his new song, ‘More,’ during the 2010 NBA All-Star players introduction. The ‘Confessions’ singer is a minority owner of the NBA team Cleveland Cavaliers.

TNT, which is airing the NBA All-Star festivities, will also show an exclusive music video with Usher for the single, which is now being shown in Regal Cinema movie theaters nationwide.

Meanwhile, Keys will sing three songs: ‘No One,’ ‘Empire State of Mine’ and ‘Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart.’
The 2010 NBA All-Star game will air Feb.14 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Alicia Keys opened the “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon Friday night with a moving rendition of her song “Prelude to a Kiss.”

The two-hour television program, which taped in New York, Los Angeles and London, is intended to raise money for victims of the catastrophic Jan. 12 earthquake, which by some estimates has killed as many as 200,000 people.

“Why? That’s the question so many of you are asking,” said telethon co-host George Clooney. “Why should be give more? Why should we believe our help can re-build a country where 80 percent of its people live on less than $2 a day, more than 3 million go without clean water and 1 in 3 children dies before the age of 5. If Haiti struggled so much before, then why should we have faith that we can make a difference now. This is a tragedy that reaches across all borders, all boundaries and demands our attention, our help and our compassion as fellow beings. … This is an opportunity to help a neighbor in desperate need and to do it with swiftness, expertise, generosity and love that resides in the best of who we are.”

“My country is in great pain and I know you can help,” Haitian singer and telethon co-host Wyclef Jean said later in the evening. “From the ashes we shall rise, so please give what you can.”

Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys will perform at a benefit concert for earthquake victims in Haiti, George Clooney says.

Speaking to The Associated Press at the Golden Globes ceremony in Beverly Hills, Clooney said more than 40 celebrities were expected to attend the January 22 event.

The actor, who has teamed up with MTV for the Hope for Haiti telethon, said the aim of the benefit was ‘to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention’.

The benefit, which Clooney and Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean will host, will be broadcast on more than a dozen television networks in the US.

It will be held in New York, with CNN’s Anderson Cooper chiming in from Haiti.

The show will benefit the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation.

Clooney said that songs from participating artists will also be available on iTunes, with proceeds going to the relief effort.
